Event Details

We've got the deep South covered with our Atlanta-area branch located in the Northeast suburb of Lawrenceville. Stop by for a spell on Thursday for some one-on-one time with local team members and our training coordinator out of Charleston, SC. While we can accommodate quite a few students on Friday, it's always a good idea to register ahead of time.

Our open house training events allow for face-to-face interaction between our valued customers and the Johnson Plastics' team members in our distribution branches across the United States. Day One is arranged like a traditional "open house" where our customers stop by for an hour or so at any time throughout the day to ask any questions about dye sub systems, equipment and substrates or get a better feel for production by personally decorating any number of sublimation products from Johnson Plastics' on-hand inventory. As a registration-only training event, Day Two is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of running a sublimation business with topics ranging from current printers and equipment to sales and marketing tips.  Because of limited seating at our respective locations, please make sure to register early for Day Two.

Thursday September 22nd, 10am-4pm - Open House (Free; No Registration):

With an "open house" atmosphere, please feel free to drop by visit for an hour or two; visit at any point throughout the day.  Our location will have a working sublimation system, and we encourage our customers and other interested parties to take advantage.  We'll be happy to guide you through a hands-on demonstration where you can make one or two products of your choice.  We can also work with you one-on-one whether you need help troubleshooting a problem, decorating a product or figuring out a selling price.  At three times during the day, we will present a short, 30-45 minute presentation covering the components that comprise a sublimation system, current printers and equipment available and a short overview of the hundreds of dynamic products you can create with sublimation (presentation repeats 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm).  There is no need to register for Thursday.

Friday September 23rd, 10am-4pm - Dye Sublimation Seminar (Registration Required):

For those new to dye sublimation or those just "kicking the tires,"  we offer a more formal training program on Friday which allows for a limited number of registered students.  Friday's session will provide you with comprehensive overview of the sublimation technology from systems and equipment to graphic needs to marketing and pricing products.  Beginning with a hands-on session first thing in the morning (with more to follow throughout the day as time allows),  Friday's instructor-led, all-day training event will focus on exactly what you'll need to get your sublimation business up, running and profiting!

To Register for Friday's Seminar, purchase your tickets through Eventbrite!

Limited seats Friday require a $20 reservation fee per person +Eventbrite fee.  Lunch provided at Friday's seminar.  Contact John Barker with any event or seminar questions (johnb@johnsonplastics.com).

Johnson Plastics

Johnson Plastics, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been a supplier to the engraving and sign making industry since 1970. The Johnson family began the business selling plastic and magnetic products used by sign shops to produce vacuum formed signs. The business is built on the belief that personal service and a strong customer focus are as important to the business as the products that are sold.

In 2002 Johnson Plastics entered the sublimation arena. Partnering with Unisub, Sawgrass, Vapor Apparel and several other vendors the company has become a dominant force in sublimation.

Still family owned, to adequately serve its national customer base Johnson Plastics added additional branch offices and warehouses. Concord, California (1975), Dallas, Texas (1986), Troy, Ohio (1987) - moved to Columbus, Ohio (1990), Atlanta, Georgia (1996), Algonquin, Illinois (1996), Phoenix, Arizona (2000) and Winston-Salem, North Carolina (2004).
